இடிப்பாரை இல்லாத ஏமரா மன்னன்
கெடுப்பா ரிலானுங் கெடும்.
கடிந்து அறிவுரை கூறும் பெரியோரின் துணை இல்லாத அரசன், தன்னைக் கெடுப்பார் யாரும் இல்லாவிட்டாலும் தானாகவே கெடுவான்.
हिन्दी (Hindi)
डाँटने वाले बड़ों का सहारा न लेने वाला असुरक्षित राजा,
बिना किसी शत्रु के भी नष्ट हो जाएगा।
जिस राजा के पास उसे डांटने और सही राह दिखाने वाले बड़े-बुजुर्ग नहीं होते, वह बिना किसी शत्रु के भी स्वयं ही नष्ट हो जाता है।
English
The king who is without the guard of men who can reprove,
Will perish, though he has no foes that wish his fall to prove.
The king who is without the support of stern reprovers will perish, even though he has no enemies to destroy him.
